Maxcraft performed the first Garmin Connext installation with our customer Dave Qualley. Read on for\u00a0his comments:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3437\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Flight-stream-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3437\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3437\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Flight-stream-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Flight Stream in action\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Flight-stream-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Flight-stream-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3437\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Flight Stream in action<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>When Garmin first announced their Flight Stream product back in August I was immediately interested.\u00a0 It finally began shipping last week, and I was excited to take the leap and be the first to install this promising looking device in my C182.\u00a0 I&#8217;m in the midst of training for my IFR rating, and I can really see the value in having more information displayed at my fingertips while in flight.\u00a0 The ability to check the weather for my route, then upload my route from the iPad into the Garmin 530W is a real time saver.\u00a0 So far I&#8217;ve only had time to make one flight with the Flight Stream installed.\u00a0 I found the data displayed on the iPad matched up perfectly with the same data that was displayed on my Aspen PFD.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a diehard Foreflight user, so the switch to the Garmin Pilot app is a big change for me.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3436\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/flight-stream-screen-shot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3436\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3436\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/flight-stream-screen-shot-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Flight Stream screen shot\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/flight-stream-screen-shot-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/flight-stream-screen-shot-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3436\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Flight Stream screen shot<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>I find the two apps are very similar in their capabilities so far, and it&#8217;s just going to be a matter of using the Garmin app for a while to become more proficient with it.\u00a0 So far there are two features that have really impressed me.\u00a0 The synthetic vision is absolutely stunning to look at, and the accuracy of the terrain and runway locations is right on with what I see out the window.\u00a0 The synthetic vision will certainly provide enhanced situational awareness during IFR approaches.\u00a0 The Flight Stream also enables me to flight plan Victor airways and upload them to the Garmin 530.\u00a0 The ability to enter airways wasn\u2019t possible on the Garmin 530 until now.\u00a0 I look forward to flying with the Flight Stream and Garmin Pilot in the near future.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Check out\u00a0our blog for more updates\u00a0and inflight videos.
