{"id":379,"date":"2012-03-01T16:16:06","date_gmt":"2012-03-02T00:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/?p=379"},"modified":"2012-03-01T16:16:06","modified_gmt":"2012-03-02T00:16:06","slug":"gps-and-glass-cockpits-waas-workshops-all-in-a-trip-to-puyallup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/gps-and-glass-cockpits-waas-workshops-all-in-a-trip-to-puyallup\/","title":{"rendered":"GPS and Glass Cockpits, WAAS, Workshops all in a trip to Puyallup"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Maxcrafts staff head to Puyallup<a href=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/2012logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-380\" title=\"2012logo\" src=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/2012logo-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>Steve and Wade head on a road trip to Puyallup Washington for the the 29th Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show.\u00c2\u00a0 Over 12,000 aviation enthusiasts gather in Western Washington for this event.<\/p>\n<p>The speakers included <strong>Craig Fuller<\/strong>, AOPA President; <strong>Rod Machado<\/strong>, pilot and author of aviation flight training material; <strong>Bruce Belgum<\/strong>, AOPA Air Safety Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Workshops went from GPS and Glass cockpits, WAAS, Garmin, weather and more!\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 It was full of information from your aviation medical to aviation maintenance.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-381\" title=\"Wade at Puyallup\" src=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Wade next to a P51 Mustang<\/p>\n<h2>Wade told us his Puyallup Story:<\/h2>\n<p><em>We ventured down toSeattle Friday afternoon and headed straight for The Museum of Flight on Boeing Field.\u00c2\u00a0 Where we had a whirl wind tour of the great aircraft on display, my favourite being the P51 Mustang!\u00c2\u00a0Then we had a great dinner with the Washington Float Plane Association, who have a lot in common with our BC Floatplane Association. They had a great speaker, (Mike Kincaid) who was a Alaskan State Trooper for many years and who&#8217;s role was mainly as the bush plane pilot\/trooper and go to all the remote communities that are spread pretty thin up there. His stories were colorful to say the least!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-382\" title=\"Steve at Puyallup\" src=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Steve next to a Corsair F4U<\/p>\n<p><em>Saturday morning we started with a great breakfast and\u00c2\u00a0then set\u00c2\u00a0up our exposition booth, right beside the Garmin booth. I believe Garmin likes to associate themselves with Maxcraft! Steve had some good pointers to trade shows and talking with customers, which I understood but I&#8217;m not quite sure I have the same gift! We informed the public of our abilities and of our ties with most of the manufactures of avionics out there.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-383 alignright\" title=\"Maxcraft Booth\" src=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Some of the other presenters had interesting items on display, from Spencer Aviation\u00c2\u00a0 to Cirrus (having their new G1000 Perspective SR22 setup to look at) there were many ways of marketing. \u00c2\u00a0I especially enjoyed talking with all the flying public and hearing the different stories of how their cockpit is managed!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-384\" title=\"Maxcraft and Garmin booth\" src=\"http:\/\/maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Puyallup6-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Maxcraft and Garmin Booth<\/p>\n<p>Over all, the Puyallup Trip\u00c2\u00a0was successful!\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Steve and Wade met some\u00c2\u00a0wonderful people, ate some fabulous food, and helped spread the word of what kind of technology is now available for the aircraft&#8217;s owners instrument panel!
