{"id":6274,"date":"2024-10-25T11:42:05","date_gmt":"2024-10-25T18:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/?p=6274"},"modified":"2025-02-27T14:13:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-27T22:13:18","slug":"pitt-meadows-airport-now-designated-aoe-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/pitt-meadows-airport-now-designated-aoe-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Pitt Meadows Airport Now Designated AOE\/15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As one of the largest avionics shops in Canada, Maxcraft does considerable work with aircraft owners south of the border.\u00a0 We are pleased to announce that the Pitt Meadows Airport has now been granted AOE (Airport of Entry) status AOE15.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6283 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/YPK-logo-78x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"78\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/YPK-logo-78x150.jpg 78w, https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/YPK-logo-156x300.jpg 156w, https:\/\/www.maxcraft.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/YPK-logo.jpg 245w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 78px) 100vw, 78px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This means we now have customs and immigration services through the Canada Border Services Agency.\u00a0 Pitt Meadows is now a convenient point of entry for international flights.\u00a0 This is effective immediately.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Key Instructions for Pilots Using AOE\/15<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of the new designation, pilots arriving at Pitt Meadows Airport must follow the mandatory Telephone Reporting for General Aviation process as outlined by the CBSA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-Arrival Notification:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 The pilot must provide advance notification of the arrival, along with details of all travelers and goods on board, by contacting the Telephone Reporting Centre (TRC) at 1-888-226-7277.<br \/>\n\u2022 Notification must be made a minimum of two (2) hours and a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in Canada.<br \/>\n\u2022 In case the toll-free number is unavailable, pilots can contact the TRC directly at 905-679-2073 (long-distance charges may apply).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Information to Provide:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Estimated time of arrival (ETA), aircraft registration number, and landing site in Canada.<br \/>\n\u2022 For each traveler on board: full name, date of birth, citizenship, travel documents, and details on purpose and length of stay.<br \/>\n\u2022 Declaration of all goods being imported, including firearms, food, plants, and currency over CAN$10,000.<br \/>\n\u2022 Any updates to ETA or traveler information must be reported before arrival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>On Arrival:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Immediately after landing, aircraft should taxi into one of the four designated parking spots in the white box directly in front of the terminal building.<br \/>\n\u2022 Once parked, the pilot must call the TRC at 1-888-226-7277 to report the arrival and receive further instructions. No one on board is permitted to leave the aircraft until CBSA approval is granted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Customs Clearance:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Pilots must ensure that the aircraft lands during CBSA&#8217;s business hours unless alternative arrangements have been made with the local CBSA office.<br \/>\n\u2022 Landing outside of normal business hours is subject to cost-recovery fees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Emergency Landings:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 If an unscheduled landing occurs due to weather or emergency, the pilot must contact the TRC, the nearest CBSA office, or the RCMP as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Pilot&#8217;s Responsibility:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Pilots must ensure all necessary travel documents are available and valid for all travelers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Pilots are responsible for any inadmissible passengers and associated costs, including removal fees.<br \/>\nWe appreciate your attention to these new guidelines as we enhance our airport services.
